We’re pleased to announce that today we launched a new updated version of Tribesmart. After listening to user feedback and suggestions we’ve tried to make the social shopping experience simpler, slicker and smarter.
We’ve brought all of the products into a central “Products” section making it easier to see what’s happening in one place. Browsing products is easier than before as everything can be found within one section. We’ve also grouped key areas such as “Best buys”, “Recommendations” and “Gift ideas” into a new “Featured” section. Login is easier than ever with options to sign in using your Facebook or Twitter accounts.
The “My account” section is more prominent than ever and is now a central part of your Tribesmart browsing experience. You can keep up-to-date and get personalised recommendations directly from your home page. We’ve also updated various user interface elements making them more interactive and nicer to use. The new search box makes finding products quicker and easier.
Our new “Shops” section helps you find specific retailers and allows you to add comments about your experiences. Help other shoppers find good online stores by rating shops and becoming a fan. The “Community” is also more important than ever and now has it’s own section where you can find member profiles and user created lists.

Our hosting provider had a major system outage Sunday evening. This was caused by hackers who brought down their main control system.
Unfortunately, this also meant that all of their clients (including us) had their servers taken down.
Some people were lucky and had their servers restored and back online the next day. Some people (like us) were not so lucky and suffered complete data loss.
This meant that we had to re-install our server from scratch and reload everything from our backups. This took longer than we hoped, but thankfully everything is now back exactly as it was before.
We are very sorry for the downtime and we hope you continue to enjoy using our Website.
Some of you may have noticed that our Website is currently offline. Unfortunately, this is due to problems with our hosting provider’s network.
They are working on the issue and we hope to be back online as soon as possible.
We’ve been working on the Website trying to improve the user experience within the “my pages” section.
The “my pages” area has now been integrated with the user profile pages. This puts everything into one place making it easier to manage your products and lists.
Also, the user profiles have been improved with additional tabs making it easier to access a user’s product finds and favourite items.
Not only that, we’ve also just launched our brand new wish list feature. You can add products to your “wanted list” and share it with your friends. This allows them to reserve products so other people know what gifts have already been purchased.
We’ve been tinkering with the Facebook “Connect” platform and have just released our new login feature.
Facebook Connect allows new users to quickly sign up for Tribesmart using their existing Facebook account. Simply click “Connect” and it will log you in to Tribesmart automatically.
It also benefits existing users by making it easier to import friends and post product comments back to their Facebook profile page.
This feature is new, so if you have any problems or feedback, please let us know in our discussion forum.
